Day Supports & Community Networking

A full day. A full life.

Structured daily programming built around the things that make life rich — art, music, recreation, friendships, volunteer work, and community outings.

Who This Is For

Adults who thrive with structure & connection

Day Supports is designed for adults with IDD who benefit from a structured daily routine, ongoing social engagement, and consistent support — but for whom vocational training isn't the primary goal (now, or ever).

For many participants, Day Supports is the foundation of an active, full adult life that complements living at home with family or in a supported residential setting.

Studio art, music groups, and creative expression that build skills and self-confidence — and produce work participants are proud of.

Active

Recreation & Movement

Adapted recreation, Special Olympics training, garden work, and movement activities that keep bodies strong and spirits up.

Community

Volunteer Placements

Weekly volunteer shifts at the library, museum, and community organizations — building real-world experience and community ties.

Learning

Life Skills & Education

Money skills, cooking, safety, technology, and the practical learning that supports independent living.

Social

Friendships & Belonging

The single most important thing many participants gain: a peer group, real friendships, and a place where they belong.

Outings

Community Outings

Trips to local museums, bowling alleys, parks, restaurants, and events — building familiarity and comfort in community spaces.

How It's Funded

Day Supports is state-funded

Day Supports is most commonly funded through Long Term Community Supports (LTCS) or the NC Innovations Waiver, administered through your LME-MCO (Vaya Health or Partners Health).

Our intake coordinator will walk through funding eligibility with you. For most families approved through their LME-MCO, services are covered with no out-of-pocket cost.

FAQ

Common questions about Day Supports

Can participants attend part-time?
Yes. Many participants attend 2-3 days a week and combine Day Supports with other activities (a part-time job, family time, or ADVP). We build schedules around the person.
Are meals included?
Yes. Lunch is provided daily in our on-site dining room, with menus accommodating common dietary needs. Let us know about allergies or restrictions during intake.
Do you offer Day Supports during summer/holidays?
We operate year-round on a standard schedule with a few annual closures. Families receive the schedule at enrollment.
Is medication management available?
Yes, trained staff can administer prescribed medications during program hours per state regulations. We'll coordinate with you and the prescribing provider.
What if my loved one has behavioral support needs?
Our staff are trained in person-centered behavior support. We work with you and the participant's care team to build approaches that support success — and we're honest with families about whether we're the right setting for higher-acuity needs.
